Cabelas Xpg Ultralight 3 Person Tent

6 min read

Without proper ventilation any tent will have condensation. You would be surprised how much water vapor there is in the air even with only one person breathing. Well several weeks ago I bought this 2 man tent and last night was the 1st time I was able to set it up and sleep out in my backyard.

The tent is in excellent shape and I bought it new. The items that were used twice were the tent, floor liner, and roof protector. I bought the vestibule used and it is in good shape. There are no holes or cuts in the tent or vestibule. Headlamps set the products apart in a sea of camouflage and gear with a hunt/fish aesthetic. Models for the new line in advertisements and videos are young, active types who sweat while hiking fast, sipping water from a hydration hose.

Cabela’s XPG Deluxe 4 person tent… – $100 (conway)

Best tent i have ever owned, and would buy several more or recommend without hesitation. Get the footprint, it is worth the $20-25. Set up is EASY and the 5lbs is really nice when humping gear. Carry size is about a normal athletic shoebox. The only thing i don’t like is the single door, limited airflow with the fly on…but i guess that is the point.

Cabela’s has you covered in any weather with XPG Ultralight Tents. Compact, lightweight and unbelievably rugged shelters for the serious backpacker. It is little complicated to set up and takes a while, which can be a pain after a long day of hiking or riding, but I see very few tents I like as much as this. As far as the tents are concerned, I took a look at the XPG Ultralight, however, I am torn between that and the Alaskan Guide Geodesic Tent. I do like that the Geodesic tent has a vestibule, however, not sure if it is worth the extra coin. Unbelievably comfortable and warm and it eliminates the need for a seperate tent.

I originally purchased it last winter while residing in Des Moines, Iowa, as a Christmas present to myself. I used this tent down at Walnut Woods State Park back in March of this year and at Maquoketa Caves State Park while on my way back to Ohio for a visit. Now I’m putting it to good use while employed here in the State of Wisconsin-Department of Natural Resources. They have some good deals if you shop them right for boots and gear. We are backpacking this year in ID and I need a good tent, that doesn’t weigh a ton. Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing.

This stuff works great for that and is very durable. I got a 8 ft by 16 ft strip for my tent and made 2 foot prints. Also picked up a Kelty Noah’s Tarp 12 for $37 & purchased 2 Kelty poles (1 adjustable & 1 non) to go with it. I think it will work well with the tent to provide additional shelter in the event of rain.

Camping, for one, bridges both worlds, with tents and sleeping bags necessary and sellable to all demographics who recreate outside. Backpacking, which means carrying your own camping equipment into the woods, is a focus with Cabela’s and its new “xtreme” gear line. I have the Kelty 12 ft tarp and 3 non-adjustable Kelty poles.

The fly would have kept the dew off -one of the reasons it is there aside from direct rainfall. You certainly couldnt blame lack of ventilation on you tent with the fly off. It’s great quality and does everything it says it does, though the design of the Bivy could be better. My experience with the Cabela’s line is that they are good-to-go and are very durable. If you are looking at a sleeping pad, check out the XPG pads compared to the Thermarests. I own all Thermarests, but if I had to do it again, I’d get the XPGs due to the lower price. I have a cabelas big horn tent that has been used twice.

But with some of the other products come higher costs. I’ve used it without the fly a bunch of times. In a dry area like the Eastern Sierra foothills, no problem—even with everything zipped up. However, along the coast , I had to open all the upper vent panels and use only the netting portion of the doors in order to avoid drips off the roof.

Field tested in Alaska, where the winds alone can fold a lesser tent, our Alaskan Guide 6-person Model Modified Geodesic Tent has proven it can take the extremes nature dishes out. The large geodesic is the result of state-of-the-art tent design, manufacturing and fabrics and is now better than ever with a newly designed integrated vestibule and a full-coverage fly. Its good shape combined with our unique six-pole system offers incredible stability. Its rugged construction boasts 100% ripstop nylon, except for the floor, which is made of an abrasion-resistant oxford nylon.

He also thinks the new kind of products in the line will lure new shoppers into the store. “I’d put our gear up against any of the major brands,” he said of the tents and the soon to be released sleeping pads and packs. Also, don’t assume that kids and teens don’t know anything about the brand when buying a smartphone.

Hmm, well the Cabela’s tent is about five pounds, unless they have different versions of the one you mentioned, that tent is almost twelve pounds. I am selling this tent for the family of an Army Vet who recently died from M.S. He was an avid camper, biker, hiker, skier, etc, and this tent has been used, but seems to be in good condition. I have all the parts except the rope it says belongs with it. I had no idea how to put it together, and I … Stephen Regenold is Founder of GearJunkie, which he launched as a nationally-syndicated newspaper column in 2002.

The tent is easy to set up, and it is very easy to take down. I have the XPG ultralight tent in the 3 man, I have been very happy with it, the one time I used it. I did get some decent rain while up in the high country and it kept the water out. I would only use it during archery season–summer or early fall though. The tent is of very light construction.
