Referred to as the Cathedral of Nature™ today, excavation crews have removed more than 1.6 million yards of earth and 108,000 loads of dirt and rock, in the hopes of discovering a passageway to connect the system and reveal a new wonder.

The city of Branson is traditionally known for its plethora of live shows. Recently, however, attention has shifted over to outdoor activities. Top of the Rock’s Lost Canyon, located within Big Cedar, is a prime example of this. Shuttle Loop services onboard guests at Big Cedar Registration and Top of the Rock Welcome Center every half hour. Once at Top of the Rock, guests choosing to visit the Top of the Rock restaurants and other attractions will board our complimentary Dining and Attractions Shuttle Loop which boards every 5-7 Minutes. Your experience will begin at the Top of the Rock Welcome Center.

Lost Canyon Cave and Nature Trail is part of the Top of the Rock complex and about a third of the natural cave is open to visitors. Mac Donald said Lost Canyon Cave is not the one that’s linked to the two sinkholes. Two sinkholes at Top of the Rock Golf Course have stopped growing and appear to be connected to a large cave previously discovered on the property. This guided adventure takes you through the Ozark wilderness as you experience magnificent views of Table Rock Lake, incredible rock formations, and more! You must be sixteen years or older to participate, and make sure you wear appropriate footwear. Note that restaurant, museum and cave tour hours vary by season and you’ll want to call ahead to book a tee time for the course. Osage Restaurant – About two minutes’ walk from Arnie’s Barn is Osage Restaurant, which offers a fine-dining menu and provides stunning views of Table Rock Lake. Choices at Osage Restaurant range from scallops to lamb to a 16-ounce ribeye. The restaurant’s lower level houses the Buffalo Bar, where patio seating offers different, but equally beautiful views, of Table Rock Lake.

The trail takes about 45 to 50 minutes to ride on the carts, or double that time to hike. The rides are approximately $20 per person ($10 for kids and three and under are free) or $25 per person for the guided hike, however hikers must be at least 12 years old. Famed Big Cedar Lodge is just down the road and the Top of the Rock golf course and restaurant are a free shuttle ride up the hill. The scenery from all of these properties is stunning, but a chance to get deep into a cavern and witness the steady stream of numerous waterfalls will make any heart race. In fact, a cavern tavern serving adult beverages is located inside the cave offering an opportunity to relax for a spell before continuing with the journey.

The Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. Featured attractions include carbon-dated skeletal remains of a woolly mammoth, a saber tooth cat, a giant ground sloth and prehistoric cave bears. As you explore the museum, you will learn about the people and animals that have inhabited the region for over 12,000 years.
