Pathways lined with pines offer spectacular water views. There are two five-star hotels , two four-star hotels and scattered private accommodation at the foot of the wooded Zlatni Rt or Punta Corrente Park. If you’re looking for a beach holiday, this is the place for you as you’ll be only steps away from Lone Beach and the string of swimming coves on Zlatni Rt.

A wedding was in progress when we visited and we stopped to take in the events outside the church. Walking the walls of Ston will give you bragging rights, because the walls are 4.3 miles long, arguably the longest in Europe. They offer panoramic views of the water and the coast.
