Based on the book of the same name by Iain Reid, I’m Thinking of Ending Things is a mind-bending movie which revolves around a young woman who travels with her new boyfriend to his parents’ secluded farm. The movie dramatises a turbulent recording session in 1927s Chicago when tensions were high between the singer, her horn player and her white management team. As long as you can stomach long fights between gorgeous people, this movie is stylish and captivating overall.
It may not be groundbreaking, but it’s a real treat for horror fans. One of writer-director Noah Baumbach’s best works, the movie wins bonus points for portraying both sides of the messy divorce with compassion, making for a heartbreaking viewing experience.
