The Lynx Rave riding experience is based on optimal weight distribution and sophisticated ergonomics on the Radien frame. Riding position is relaxed and the narrow design of the snowmobile facilitates active riding style. The suspension on the Lynx Rave is fully loaded with the 46 mm diameter KYB Kashima HLCR shock absorbers. A quick access to a wide range of adjustability helps optimize the suspension according to riding conditions and the rider’s preferences. The Kashima coating gives the shock absorbers motion sensitivity and extended service intervals.
However, even at the suspension’s lowest settings it does not have the plushness of rMotion (what does?). The Lynx RAVE RE and two different length Lynx Boondocker DS models are now available for purchase this spring only, with a retail program that requires a deposit at select BRP dealers in North America. KYB Kashima shock absorbers
Unlike the rear suspension design differences, the front suspension is basically the same RAS layout in both BRP snowmachines. Although it never bottomed out, the bumps transmitted firmer shockwaves through the sled than most riders would deem necessary. Again, I’ll repeat, this is a no-nonsense big bump sled so it will not ride like an all-day cruiser. Ski-Doo, or should I say Lynx, has raised the stakes even more by adding a new platform variation to the mix.Decisions, decisions. SnowTrax Television has established itself as the most watched snowmobile television series in North America. Sure, by comparison, this is a very nice-looking snowmobile – maybe the best-looking sled this year – and has the cachet of being from Europe.
It might help to look back on the Ski-Doo brand and examine some of the models they have introduced over the years for a partial answer to this question. Clearly BRP is happier keeping the RAVE’s appeal targeted at a specialized segment of the market and giving those riders more than what the average semi-aggressive trail rider is shopping for. There is a way to ride this sled and it involves more physicality than some riders may be willing to exert. PPS3 demands a throttle-on attitude and really surprises when you ride it that way.

Kashima coating gives the shocks motion sensitivity and brings the shock absorber an unparalleled ability to follow rough trail.
In addition, Kashima coating extends service intervals of the shock. To answer the question about whether or not this sled is the next step up from the hardcore offerings already out there, I would say yes and no. Let me explain further in this 2022 Lynx Rave RE first ride and analyze. First, we’d like to underscore the fact this is not a Renegade! This sled is completely different in its riding demeanor in nearly every way. Second, we’re not going to draw any comparisons between the Lynx and the VR-1. We’re saving that info for a later reveal. The Lynx suspension is in itself already a concept.

How many manufacturers can state that they build a uniquely different sled in a foreign country? This could be a brilliant marketing strategy for BRP. Lynx, I’m sure, may regret making it stiffer than it has to be for North America and I will go out on a limb and state that a future version will be sprung softer. Cat found this out during the initial release of the RR.
