All are Hardy with the exception of the BFR CFO reels & the Abel CFO reels. If they are very recent vintage the Hardy model number is included if I know it. These are some classic or at least classic looking reels I have on my database. I have a bunch of reels that just never seem to be void of line and backing or when they are I forget to get a naked weight on them.
The ones made after 1938 with the larger gear are particularly nice. I was looking for a light reel to balance a 7′ 3wt graphite rod that I acquired, shhhhhh, and I had a CFO III that I usually use with my 3wts and new what it weighed and that I wanted something lighter. I looked through the factory specs and a Lamson lp light was going to work perfectly.

Shipping and handling
In fact, I know that some reel manufacturers spend a lot of time and energy trying to get those reels “pitch perfect.” The new ones aren’t bad, just different. And of course, the older models were American made, whereas the new ones are manufactured in China. The round line guard 1494’s usually go for around $100-$125 and up, the 1495’s go for just a little less. I have several and they are beautiful reels, but if your budget is tight, I would recommend a later model with the metal drag plate, with the cream colored latch cover and handle. These usually go for $25-$40. I personally have had the best luck getting the ones with metal drag plates by purchasing reels stamped “patent pending”.

Some of these probably require some explanation. The weights are not brochure weights but actual weights from my digital scale. The data did not transfer that well from my spread sheet but readable. This reel spool has been in my closet since 1977.Shipping to lower 48 states only. This is Pflueger 1494 Medalist and spare sppol both in original boxes. It is 3″ with strong check. Drag, and full foot. Nice small stream reel. Post $3.00. I know the 1594s from that era are scarce but I watched two on that auction site sell for over 300 the last couple of days.
This little reel is an excellent example of an early Akron Ohio made 1492 in great condition just as described. I have many Pflueger reels but for a 2 or 3 wt small water reel they can’t be beat. When I recieved it it was a full ounce heavier than the factory posted literature. I just weighed two naked NOS Ryobi reels, a 355 and a 455, both are the plain, non-MG versions, and both have metal springs. All used respectfully and in wonderful working order. Not from China) Pawl drags all in fine working order. The lines are all floating lines(6. 7 and 8 wt)with dacron backing.These are ready to fish or save.
The line looks to be a 5 weight DT. That is a very good link, but I take exception on fitting a DT6 with backing on that spool. H&H used to have a Medalist capacity chart, but no longer, since the reels are discontinued.
