I was very skeptical but I picked up the gun 2 days prior to my shoot and was pleasantly surprised that after 100 rounds everything went off perfectly. I also liked the fact that it has very few parts to clean which was very simple to do. Overall nice gun it will be my first gun rather than my backup. Starting with the walnut deluxe versions , Weatherby has expanded their Element inertia gun line into lower price point models.
It functioned perfectly in the first rounds of trap and skeet and no break in was needed . For hunting pheasants and chukar partridge it is light and tough, and shoots any load I put in it . I thought it would kick more but I think the fiber stock helps to negate some of the recoil ? Even with hunting loads it’s soft shooting . As soon as I sell one of my B—— guns I’ll be getting one in twenty gauge.

The full choke tube at 20 yards is dead on point of aim. The IC choke at 35 yards was centered and pretty even. Then I shot a round of skeet with light target loads.

Today I purchased a Carlson’s turkey choke. I like #6 plated lead shot so I got the 0.660 constriction. As could be expected, perceived recoil with the hard-hitting Fiocchi shells was brisk. Certainly the recoil pad helps, but recoil can only be mitigated so much in a 6-lb., 12-oz. The cartridge-release button is located on the forward, right side of the receiver. With the hammer cocked, the bolt will not remain locked to the rear unless the bolt latch is activated. The Weatherby Element loads as smoothly as any inertia gun I have tested and better than most. As autoloaders go, the Element is well-balanced and smooth-swinging.
