Low power contact should be connected to corner light hot wire (green wire – same color on both sides). Squirt some silicon around the black plastic wire guide to make it more weatherproof.

I did it to my 98 by converting the bottom blinker socket to 01-04, they are interchangeable… Install the 1157 bulb onto the new socket. The bulb should require you to push it into the new socket and then twist it to hold.

Its just as simple as connecting them to the park lights or whatever else you want to come one with them. From what I can tell the side markers blink with the turn signals when they are off, and opposite of the turn signals when the parking lights are turned on. I’m not sure yet as I haven’t done it yet. On the socket that I used , I connected the positive green parking light wire to the red wire sticking out of the new socket. Twist the 2 white ground wires from the turn signal and parking light together. Using a butt connector, attach both to the white ground wire you added to the new socket. Twist the two positive leads from the new socket together. Before fully attaching with a butt connector, test for functionality by loosely twisting the two positive leads to the green wire from the turn signal. If it works, complete the connection with a butt connector.

These lights are designed with a load resistor built in so if this is the first LED mod on your truck you won’t need to purchase additional resistors for your turn signal circuit. Connect the negative ground white wire with black stripe from the parking light to the metal spade connector for a ground. Remove parking light housing from its cubby hole by gently pulling it away from the truck towards you .
This will leave the area flat for the new socket to mount against. Then make the opening just large enough so it feels like the socket will start in the hole. Then mark where the spring prongs are, and only make those areas slightly larger. If you look closely at the photo, the areas where I made the notches are visible. All this cutting and notching creates a real mess of plastic shavings.

So I had to put electric tape to the back of it to make it stay put. The existing hole in my 99 parking light housing was imbedded and had some walls surrounding it, which in my opinion made it harder to work with. So I made a new hole about an inch and a half to two inches below the existing hole, using first a drill, and then a Dremel tool to make the hole. I tried to feed the single bulb both hot leads with shared ground.
So beware and check all applicable state and federal laws if you plan on doing this. I had to preserve as much of that cylinder as possible because the bulb is pretty large. But the bulbs click in and out, just like factory. You got me thinking hard about this clever mod. I always wanted to do marker/blinker mod but I did not like the cutting.

I finally figured out how to do the front turn signal / parking light conversion trick written about at ORC. The article at ORC is great and informative, but my limited experience with wiring and automotive lights prevented me from understanding it fully. I want to thank Chris Geiger , Poolman, Briscoe and the rest of you fine folks who helped me. Install USR Turn Signal Housing You can now install your new smoked turn signal lights into the housing. Pull back on the plastic plate which hugs the housing and slide in your lights, with the bottom edge first. Once the bottom edge is completely in place and none of the foam is exposed, you can push the top edge of the lights in.
Blowing or vacuuming through the new opening only creates additional static cling and frustration. You need something to break the static cling, which is where the water comes in handy. Using soft or distilled water to rinse out the shavings helps to leave the inside of the lens free of water spots. Now the way I described this mod was not to have the corners blink just the fog lights stay on at the bottom and blink at the same time while still having use of you corner lights ….

If it doesn’t try the other green wire or check your ground connection. Clean everything up with black tape or a wire loom. Fit the new 1157 bulb and socket into the hole in the stock parking light housing. You may have to tape the socket on if the new hole is too big (that’s what I had to do since I carelessly made the hole a little too big so that it was not a snug fit). Remove the clips holding the wiring for the turn signal and parking light and pull the wiring out through the hole where the corner assembly was located.
