Carpet lifts and chair lifts will take you to the trail of your choice. The closest ski resort to Indy lies just outside of Cincinnati. At Perfect North, you’ll find ski and snowboard lessons, equipment rental, food options and a ski lodge where you can warm up or watch your loved ones on the slopes. With trails ranging from easier to double black diamond, skiers of many abilities love Perfect North for both skiing and snowboarding.
Please contact the salon directly to verify hours and availability. But it’s incredibly hard to reach to the top with the rope. It’s okay at first, but after about 3 or 4 laps, you can’t hold the rope. I suggest you change the rope system. At least there must be triangular sticks we can hold on to.

It would be misleading to refer to the terrain here as a mountain; it is more a hillside. The verticle drop at the Four Lakes Alpine Snowsports winter venue is only 100 feet. That is still more than enough to provide challenges and fun to the crowd that comes here. Everything is wide open and straight, making it easier for newbies to gain confidence.
Luckily we live very close to several states so in effect there are lot’s of places to go skiing or snowboarding near Indianapolis. As we explore more resorts and slopes, we’ll add them to the list. Depending on how far you’re willing to drive, there’s a ski hill within almost any budget and every skill level. Seven surface lifts shuffle guests around the Four Lakes Alpine Snowsports area, taking away the intimidation of chair lifts. Four runs offer green ratings to learn on. The venue does break them down into two “beginner,” one “intermediate,” and one “advanced.” A terrain park creates a chance to learn the basics of ripping and shredding terrain features.

Four Lakes Ski Area Lisle
The winter venue does stay busy for its size and what it provides, however. As part of the Chicago metropolitan area, the ski area does not offer overnight accommodations. Fine dining, lodging, retail shopping, and entertainment are provided in abundance by the surrounding area.
These lessons are one on one instruction. Private Lessons fees are $60 per 1 hour of instruction. These lessons are typically available 7 days a week. Area becomes more and more difficult. Beginners and families will love Four Lakes, which is a great learning center with multiple lesson programs using the American Teaching System.

Guest services include an ATM, lost and found, information desk, ticket office, and restrooms. The meet-up area for lessons is right outside of the rental shop, which is convenient for newbies. A beginner-friendly layout puts the learning terrain next to the main building, with runs getting longer the farther they are from the Four Lakes Alpine Snowsports “lodge.”
It’s not often that one can find a place to ski or snowboard in a metropolitan area, so that makes the Four Lakes Alpine Snowsports facility worth a glance on its own. Many residents of Chicago and neighboring suburbs learned to ride one or two planks at this winter venue, and its gentle and friendly beginner terrain is an ideal place for newbies to start. Eight hour lift tickets are $42 for children age 12 and under and $52 for adults. Snow tubing is available for $23 for children and $28 for adults.

Snow tube tickets are valid for 2 hours Friday – Sunday or all day during the week. Four Lakes Alpine Snowsports ski resort is located in Illinois, United States. With a peak elevation of 2201 ft it offers skiers and snowboarders a 1187 ft vertical drop.
We finally got in and it was the same story with the lines, no order whatsoever and people cutting constantly. We ended up having a great time when it thinned out but it just very poorly run. Daily passes are $15-20 and parents ski for free with their kids. Private ski and snowboard lessons are available. Six slopes with adjoining trails, five rope tows, seven acres of open area for boarding and skiing, slopes ranging from 700 feet to 250 feet.

He didn’t offer any compensation or anything, but I did let him know we were disappointed about the time change and lack of notification on their part for whatever reason. Not I. Snow conditions were typical for the Mid West. Lots of kids in the snow boarding area. I would highly recommend getting yourself a pair of gloves with serious grip, or duct-taping a lesser pair. After I had skiied for a while and was ready to move on to the higher hill, my gripless gloves failed me – the steep incline near the top makes the process more work than the downhill part. We won’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend it for any true beginner as well due to the difficult rope system used to pull folks up the hill.
