Munds Park RV Resort is directly adjacent to Coconino tiol Forest in the cool pines of Munds Park. Once in near the overlook, the road is much narrower and quite a bit rougher. Honestly, there’s very little negative to say about dispersed camping here. You’ll notice a bit of traffic , but this is minimal, especially compared to other popular Arizona dispersed camping locations. Those nearest Highway 64 fill up quickly in the peak season, but there are always more sites for those willing to venture further in.

Zane Grey RV Village is a great place to live or hang out year round. It’s close to everything you want to be around when you’re traveling to Sedona, and because it’s surrounded by mountains, you’ll have shelter from summer rains. Farther down off Loy Butte Road, you can find even more dispersed camping. Just 11 miles from town, the Main Drag dispersed camping area is a wide-open region teeming with wildlife and sometimes wild life.

A little south of Cottonwood is the Verde Valley RV and Camping Resort set on the gorgeous Verde River. Tucked down away from the road, this 200-acre property is well-designed to keep you comfortable after a long day of exploring the desert. Without even leaving camp you can hike a little strea9m/river to a little pool. For a few more amenities and an outdoor pool with fabulous views to the mountains, The Andante Inn of Sedona is another property with good prices. Sites are mostly gravel, although some have patches of grass, and they are fairly close together. When the trees come out in spring, this facility looks like a botanical park.

It’s the perfect location for an escape with a view, with 40 campsites and easy access from I-19 to the east of town. There are no amenities, but it’s only 11 miles to town, so spend your days hiking, shopping, and playing, then come back to your campsite for some stargazing. ATVs enjoy perusing the dirt roads here, alongside campers, but things quiet down come nightfall. We’re sure you’ll love Loy Butte Road, Schnebly Hill Road, Pumphouse Wash, and our other favorite Sedona dispersed campsites just as much as we do. Because of the popularity of dispersed camping in Coconino National Forest near Sedona, many of the above campsites have become overwhelmed with trash and human waste. Dispersed camping starts about a half mile from the turnoff.
