Now the question is – how do we find better information on those sites? The answer is that we cross-reference with another site or service. Now we know where a few of the BLM sites are and if there are group sites at a location, we can assume that there are individual first-come, first-served sites as well. This is because, on BLM land, you can only reserve “Group Sites”.

There are typically size restrictions on RV campsites and you’ll find sites that range anywhere from 20 to 40 feet. If you think this is a lot of work to find a campground, you’re right. But Mill Creek is only $14/night for a nice site along the water without hookups and $20/night with electric hookups! You can purchase an annual access pass for $40 to enter the day-use areas but camping fees are not included with pass entry. If you’re staying longer than a day or two at the campground you’ll want to plan ahead a bit and dump your grey/black water tanks (even better if they have a dump station on-site) and show up with a full fresh water tank. But you should be able to run your generator outside of quiet hours time to charge up your batteries.

What Facilities Are In Camping Areas?

With more gently sloping mountains, things may be slightly easier for drivers.
