Used in great outer condition. Only issue is that the inner coating is flaking off. Not sure if it is interior waterproofing or some other type of coating. Really nice and light dry bag that can double as a summit pack. Used it once during ice season, but it’s not quite ideal for carrying tools. I jury rigged a sternum strap that I’m including – use it or not.

Unfortunately I was strapped to it on all of these occasions and the pack is way more durable than I am. Used for an overnight trip to Echo Lake, Wash. Found that the pack has a lot more room than I need and I couldn’t get it to compress down enough.

I got a couple of replacement zippers from LS last season just in case – any cobbler can install them easily if the need arises. The gaiters had a couple of crampon snags that I repaired with McNett’s and I haven’t had any problems. I don’t have the original insoles as I used Superfeet – you’ll need your own. Great summit pack, and also great as a light pack while climbing. But too much overlap with my Flash 18, so I don’t really use it.

This is a Lowe Alpine Contour IV 90+15 internal frame backpack. It came from an avid outdoorsman who recently passed away. I have gone over this pack and cannot tell if it has ever been used.

There’s a small stain on the right rear shoulder from where I must have leaned against something. Also, it fits more like a medium now – must have shrunk over the course of many washings. Still a great piece of gear. Like new, great fleece, very heavy weight fabric.

It is still comfortable after carrying a 120-lb load while pulling a 27-lb sled. This spring I carried about 70 lbs in it and discovered that the harness could no longer support the load properly. No matter what adjustments I made, the hipbelt kept slipping further and further down my hips. I suspect it’s because the foam in the belt has broken down over the years. With the lighter loads the pack still works reasonably well, but it’s apparent that the harness isn’t working the way it used to. The compression cinch is useful don’t cut it off.
