Marcus insists that he still loves her, but he also loves Ceceilia and doesn’t want to give up his new life. Mother Gothel then shows up and pretends to admire her resourcefulness in escaping the tower. She vaguely points out that although she’s been physically reunited with her family, the emotional disconnect is so vast that she might as well be still in the tower. When Rapunzel promises Gothel “anything”, Gothel’s reaction and words very much parallel how Rumple reacted whenever someone offered him an open-ended deal (particularly to Hook and Anna in Season 4’s “The Apprentice”). Once Upon A Time: Season 7: Episode 9

The scene at the frozen lake was filmed on a blue-screen studio set. While the snow and some of the trees were real, the ice and the background was added digitally in post-production. Lucy’s ballet studio is called the Red Shoe Ballet, a reference to “The Red Shoes”, a fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen, about a girl forced to dance continually in her red shoes. The New Enchanted Forest flashbacks take place over the course of at least seven years, before “Eloise Gardener”.The first flashback scene takes place while Anastasia and Drizella are still young girls. The rest of the flashback scenes take place six years later, until Drizella’s birthday party.

Victoria uses her tear to use on Anastasia, allowing her to wake Anastasia, but also causing Lucy to apparently collapse into unconsciousness upon returning home to Jacinda. The sudden awakening of Anastasia is also watched from afar by an upset Ivy. Gothel reappears and tempts her into making Cecelia flee with a mushroom from New Wonderland. Rapunzel at first disagrees, only to become increasingly jealous of Cecelia (with the last straw being Anastasia calling Cecelia “mother” in gratitude for a gift) and ends up making her flee to New Wonderland. Her husband chases her, but eventually gives up and comes back to Rapunzel to make a perfect family. One day, Anastasia falls through thin ice, along with Ella, when the former was trying to help the latter get off of the ice.

Victoria strikes a deal with Weaver in an attempt to free herself from jail and wake Anastasia, but the cost of saving one life could mean the loss of another. In a flashback, we learn Lady Tremaine’s surprising connection to another classic fairytale when Mother Gothel offers to help her family. Meanwhile, Jacinda and Nick share an exchange that could alter her future with Henry. In a flashback, we learn Lady Tremaine’s surprising connection to another classic fairytale when Mother Gothel offers to help her family. Victoria strikes a deal with Weaver in an attempt to free herself from jail and wake Anastasia, but the cost of saving one life could mean the loss of another; Rogers, however, becomes suspicious and investigates his fellow officer.

Victoria later strikes a deal with Weaver to help him find the Guardian in an attempt to free herself from jail and wake Anastasia. Weaver agrees and acknowledges her as Rapunzel, revealing Tremaine’s true identity while also divulging that he is awake and remember his life as Rumpelstiltskin. One winter day, while playing outside, both Anastasia and Ella fall through thin ice.

The lanterns, however, was straight out of Tangled and the sun in the lanterns was their family’s sigil. But while they strayed too far from the movie Tangled, it was nice that Rapunzel got out of the tower on her own using her hair, rather than throwing her hair down and having some prince come up to rescue her from the tower. And despite Drizella being cold to her mother, Rapunzel seemed like she wants to hug her daughter. On the other hand, Anastasia isn’t too bright going out on the ice, as was her father for not jumping back in to the water for her. We then move to Victoria’s backstory—when she was Rapunzel, she was trapped in Gothel’s tower for six years and ticked off every single day on the wall until she saw some lanterns floating by that gave her an idea.

Rogers confronts Weaver, demanding to know his purpose; he can’t tell it Weaver is a good cop or a crooked one. Weaver explains it’s hard to word, but tells Rogers that he’s been separated from his wife Belle; everything he’s been doing is to find her again, even relying on Vicotria Belfry – dead end. Rogers tells Weaver he’ll help, wondering what lead he has now; Weaver tells Rogers they have to protect Lucy now, as she is a key to Victoria’s own plans. “One Little Tear” is the ninth episode of the seventh season of ABC’s Once Upon a Time and the one hundredth and forty-second episode of the series overall. It was written by Chrisopher Hollier & Adam Karp and directed by Steve Pearlman.

This makes an entirely different storyline from what we know in Tangled because she doesn’t kidnapped Rapunzel as a baby. Furthermore, we also see Rapunzel scream for help at the tower in the promo, with the camera pulling back quickly. Flashing then back to the story book, where we see one whole page with a picture of what looked like Rapunzel laying some girl down and a voice over saying that there’s going to be a tale of sacrifice. The voice over then goes to saying that there’s also going to be tales of revenge, with a clip of Weaver and Victoria breaking into the crypt.

Weaver tried to relate to her — even talking about Baelfire, the son who hated him to no end and his own unspeakable sacrifices — but she’s not going to be deterred. Back at H2, Jacinda consults with Nick to see if the paperwork Victoria has delivered on Lucy is the real deal or if it’s a trick. Given her history, it’s not hard to understand why she has such concern, but, surprisingly enough, the documents check out. She’s enthralled and finds herself kissing him for the briefest of seconds before pulling away; she wants Lucy to have a relationship with him, but they’re not going to be some swoony romantic item all of a sudden. Yes, it’s been Anastasia that’s kept a torch lit for her — literally speaking here — all this time, but Marcus has moved on. He’s now married to a woman named Cecilia, and raising her daughter Ella, and what’s worse is that Drizella’s connection to her mother has been tainted by time, too.

So, Rapunzel turns Gothel’s own medicine against her and banishes her to a tower untold — one that’s been enhanced since Rapunzel’s escape effort, by the way. There’s nothing Lady Tremaine won’t do for her family (and by family, that’s actually just Anastasia), and pretty much everyone in her life has to find that out the hard way on tonight’s Once Upon a Time. “One Little Tear” is the ninth episode of Season Seven of ABC’s Once Upon a Time. It is the one hundredth and forty-second episode of the series overall, and premiered on December 1, 2017. Anna Cathcart, who plays Teen Drizella in this episode, played the role of Drizella’s daughter, Dizzy Tremaine, in Descendants 2.

The acting is very good, especially Gabrielle Anwar, some of her best acting of the show, and Robert Carlyle, yet to err though accents is not his forte admittedly. She has previously played Drizella’s daughter Dizzy in the Disney Channel movies Descendants 2 and Descendants 3.
