The base engine in the 2022 XT5 is a turbocharged 4-cylinder, and while it’s ample for getting around, we would prefer it to be a bit more powerful. We’re more fond of the 3.6-liter V6, which in the Sport model is also coupled with standard all-wheel drive, a sportier suspension, and stronger brakes. Base models are front-wheel drive, and both the Luxury and Premium Luxury trims can be equipped with all-wheel drive for $2,000 extra.
