I have a background in mechanical engineering and spent four years in the aerospace industry so I was very rigorous when it came to testing. I witnessed a test done by Geoff Hepding at the AFC Carbon Arrows plant in Chatfield, MN back in the early 90s. AFC made small diameter pultruded carbon arrows and they brought me in to verify that their tesing was scientifically accurate.
Why do you need heavier arrows?
I have shot the SEVR 2.1s in front of some 5mm FMJs for the past several hunting seasons, and while I haven’t gotten 100% pass-throughs, the performance has been nothing short of sensational.
