Lone Wolf Mountain Mountain Outdoor Gear Review

Stay tuned for my review of the upper assembly, as well as a summary of the pistol as a whole. Now that that part is done, we move onto the gluing of the rails. This is what seemed odd to me, but it worked out fine.

For regular hunting habits, no matter which you get, it’ll wear out faster. Since they’re manufactured in the States, customer care and customization are simple. There’s no doubt that these top-rated brands are praised for good reasons.

THE RIGHT PRODUCT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE

The seat is made out of two contoured foam panels , providing extra comfort and allowing ventilation on those hot September afternoons. Overall, the seat is secure, comfortable and sturdy. I’ve been using a Lone Wolf hand climber for about 20 years. Replaced the traction belt with a longer one several years ago, but it has held up very well. I like its slim profile on my back, don’t need or want the luxury of the sit and climb model, or the extra bulk or weight that comes with it.

Look for the Elite Rainfly, sold separately, that covers the tent and cot all the way to the ground. I used this product throughout the winter and the coldest that I used it at was around 0F. At that temp, with an adequate sleeping bag I found this pad to be incredibly comfortable. I was thinking of ways to secure a pack to it, this makes a ton of sense. Have any of y’all swapped out the stock straps with MOLLE straps? Sounds like the hazmore seat is a consensus upgrade…

There are 2 front rails and 2 rear rails, both with rail caps. The rear rail caps are left and right specific. Now get a small paint brush or 2, steal them from your kids, or go buy some. Paint some of the supplied adhesive on the rail pockets. Slide the rails into these pockets with the rail facing out.

Lone Wolf even offers one that is wider than the factory, but it requires custom machining to make it work. When designing their frame, they decided to incorporate it right in, that way you don’t have to have it modified later. The wider release offers people with shorter fingers, like me, an easier to reach release without shifting the grip, as well as an easier to find release, which is good for everyone. I do not necessarily like to use a climbing stand for all of the obvious reasons, but when you need one, you need one, and this is the best one I have ever used. When mobility is your goal, less is more, imo. The next part of the grip is the texture. Many people feel that the Gen 3 Glock grip is just too slick. What the Timberwolf offers is a very aggressive square pattern, without being so harsh as to tear up your hands, with one exception.

In our opinion, you should invest in lone wolf. It lasts longer and you can customize it however you like. But if you’re new to hunting or have a budget, the xop will serve you better. Have you decided which you will choose between xop and lone wolf? If you’re still lost, allow us to help you some more. Both of these brands provide stands and equipment that are lightweight.

Fresh snow blankets the forest and the Lone Wolf heads out for a camping adventure. This is Luke’s next Winter Overnight Adventure, thank you all for joining for this trip. And there are sets which feature a quick tent and a cot. I’m going to do my best to put gear lists into all of my videos since everyone is asking for them all the time.

Scott – great review, and I agree with everything you said. My buddy bought the same stand and I borrowed it for a test-drive. We want to ensure that making a return is as easy and hassle-free as possible!

HUGE one piece cast aluminum platformSeat Size / Material / Comfort – I am not a small guy, and many of the stands on the market, well, are just not made for me! At 6’4” and 275 pounds, those little seats that come as part of most tree stands just don’t cut it. The Wide Sit & Climb Combo II is just that, wide. The seat measures 21 inches across, making it a full 4 inches wider than the regular Lone Wolf Sit & Climb, and wider than any other comparable climber on the market.

As with everything we’ve seen from these guys lately, attention to detail, fit, and function is second to none in the design process of these sticks. The way every part compliments each other is impressive. Starting in late 2010, I started using a lot of products from Lone Wolf; this developed into a full-fledged sponsorship in 2011 and a continued working relationship to this day. This is entirely based on your personal preference. The standard kits from Lone Wolf are of high standards and quality. However, if there is any particular customization for stands or sicks, then you can go for it.

Lone Wolf Gear Omnibus Review

The stand is spendy no doubt about it….. Still even with my “mods” it is half the price of a new bow setup and I will get plenty of use out of it. Heck I used my Summit Cobra XLS since 2001. I didn’t find it cost effective either….

The stock backpack straps are acceptable but as I mentioned earlier, I upgraded to a padded set from Gray Wolf Woolens for the long walks in. The Lone Wolf climbing sticks are easy to use simply strap to tree and climb. I am able to get about 15 to 20 feet depending on how heavy dressed I am. Their pretty quiet from the factory but with a little work you can make sound prof. I think the price is a bit high probably not going to change.

Gear Closet

Not as cheap as free bungee cords though. After having owned both stands, I knew that’d work out for you well. It truly is the best of both worlds combining the strengths of both great companies. User adjustable for pre-travel and over-travel WITHOUT full disassembly.

If you’re looking for something different in a Glock style pistol, Check out the new Timberwolf frames. Lone Wolf has you covered in the frame option department, with four different ones available. If you have small hands, but want all the options everyone else has, pick up one of these new frames, and feel the difference. Definitely go check out Lone Wolf, for their complete frames and complete slides, you can get a complete TWF-C pistol, if that’s your thing.
