The original is the long rod which is now our high rev version. The new high torque version comes with a non-long rod crank. The high torque version is optimal for 4WD’s, heavy cars etc.

This engine will come with a CY fancover for a direct fitment into an HPI Baja, Losi and most other large scale rc cars. After the treatment we find these engines to be just as reliable as a Zenoah if not more but with longer life due to the treatment done to the top end. We are so confident in this engine’s reliability that we back it with a full warranty. The warranty covers our porting, manufactures defects, plating failures but does not cover user error. This engine comes standard with a 78mm 3 shoe clutch and has a much longer life than the stock Zenoah/CY 54mm clutches that are commonly used. RC Car Engines

CNC porting and hand finishing is all done in-house by the OBR staff. We do not contract out any of our porting so every engine is modified to our exact specifications. We are able to offer higher accuracy this way as well as more power. Our CNC machine has allowed us to take our porting to the next level due to us being able to do cylinder work that is not possible to do by hand.

After quite a few years of prototyping our oval racing engines we’ve come up with the signature series dirt oval mod engine. This was our first choice due to the one piece crankshaft and the fact that this bottom end utilizes both needle and sealed crankcase bearings. We have installed two fully ported Zenoah G270RC 4 bolt 25.4cc top ends on this engine. This engine comes with two Wt-929 carbs, which can be upgraded to Wt-603’s during checkout.

One Piece Brake Mount For The Hpi Baja

The 57cc twin is brand new release and is currently the largest twin we offer. Same bottom end as a 45 or 50.8cc but with Zenoah 36mm top ends. Being that this is a larger displacement you can expect this twin to be the highest torque but not rev quite as high a 45 or 50.8cc.

This engine is now available with the option to add a +1mm stroke crankshaft to increase the displacement to 47cc. From our testing the added stroke helps with more torque and mid range power.This engine is only available for the Losi 5ive at this time. The complete kit comes with everything needed to install and run.

For those of you not familiar with our history we are coming up on our 10th year in business. We take a lot of pride in every engine that ships out of the OBR warehouse and we feel this one really reflects what we are capable of building. The development of this case took several months, a lot of labor, testing on our dyno, in-car testing and we could not be more pleased with the final product.

Every cylinder is ported and then sent out for treatment that is done here in the states. The treatment helps bond the chrome plating to the cylinder and significantly strengthens it without making the plating brittle. At the same time Molybdenum Disulfide is embedded into the plating to reduce friction. The reduction in friction increases power and the life of the engine. This treatment also significantly increase the cylinders ability to retain oil.
