Este Backcountry Hunters and Anglers un grup liberal?

The Hidden Lake trail referenced in the letter had some momentum, but we have been able to curtail this. It is important that we keep a close eye on trails proposals, especially when they are in close proximity to wildlife habitat. On May 10, 2022, Colorado passedS.B 151, the bipartisan Safe Crossings for Colorado Wildlife and Motorists Act, which creates a $5 million cash fund to provide safe road crossings for wildlife and to reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions. This bill also provides the state with matching funds needed to leverage the $350 million in federal grants for wildlife corridors recently established under theBipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. See this petition from the San Juan Citizens Alliance for additional information. In addition, Don is working with Tim Brass and Brien Webster on developing a chapter stream access engagement plan.

I would ask yourself what, exactly, the Democrats have done for both guns and for the poor. -tell me when the last politician drained the swamp like DT. We have much more we agree on than don’t- and public lands are one of those things. Our lines are drawn a little differently, but we agree on most things land.

Backcountry Hunters & Anglers

In Part I-A they gave $106,000 in political expenditures. In Fundraising events they spent $113K in two events and netted $55K. As to the matter of BHA,…they are an extremely “green” group in Idaho. If you believe otherwise you’re either a member yourself or you’ve never researched the issues they weigh in on in Idaho. And when I’m older and can no longer hike in a few miles, I’ll gladly turn that backcountry land over to the next generation. If they give their money to an organization I support, I don’t really care who they are because it doesn’t matter unless their donations somehow corrupt the organization.

Since then the idea has taken off, and less than 15 years later the Missoula-based group has become arguably the fastest-growing sportsmen’s organization in the country. Although I’m from Montana and an advocate of public lands/access, I’m not a supporter of BHA because of their liberal leadership and agenda. However, I don’t think they are the “Trojan Horse” that some of these websites make them out to be. If us “experienced” hunters alienate new/younger hunters with different political viewpoints, hunting as we know it will be gone in 50 years….

Backcountry Hunters & Anglers reveals its radical side

Just because a couple local loud-mouths or politicians don’t agree, doesn’t mean squat. Show me any proposal on anything where you get 100% agreement…and I’ll show you a picture of bigfoot in a flying saucer. The trouble is, one local that doesn’t get his/her way 100% of the time, and its immediately “over-reach”, and “DC making all the decisions”. The executive order was created at the urging of Sen. Orrin Hatch and other members of Utah’s Republican congressional delegation. However, Congress has twice limited presidential powers under the act, requiring congressional consent on some future proclamations.

Those from a distance that want to pontificate about the subject only need to look at the organization’s leader, L Tawney, to really know what they are supporting. GreenDecoys.com is one of the Berman & Co.’s phony front organizations designed to further his clients corporate aims. That includes attacking a group that opposes the client. Berman is a DC attorney who runs a not so ethical PR and lobbyist company.

More food for thought on BHA, my 2¢ reading this website description is they are more of an obstructionist organization with ideals that are opposite responsible land and water usage, i.e, far left enviro whack jobs. This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks. The action you just performed triggered the security solution. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. The organization supports legislation to ban the use of drones while hunting, calling the technique unethical.

We support the continued federal management of federal public lands, and that they continue to be managed via existing laws, acts, and regulations. Gardener urged the audience to try to make a difference. As the wealthiest country in the world, she said, it’s our obligation to take the initiative in solving this problem. Ranching on public land doesn’t give the rancher the right to close public roads and access to public lands. The rancher can lose his grazing permit for even attempting that. This system proses an overwhelming challenge of keeping public lands in the hands of the public, due to the lack of funding to continue leasing land parcels.

Support Dedicated Funding to Recover Wildlife

Its hard to say public lands support is not a partisan issue here in MT when the MT GOP has right in their platform, transfer of federal land to state which everyone knows is code for sell public land. There’s not a state in the country that can manage that much public land, unless you want to raise taxes or hand it over to well-connected narrow special interests to “manage” which would be the end of all hunting, access and big game herds. It used to be Republicans were responsible for the majority of hunting opportunities that we enjoy today but now the party believes the best management would be a disposal to the highest bidder. Maintaining oversight of our public lands when they are far better managed within the Big Sky State as without.

One of the priority issues for the Minnesota chapter, and the group, has been opposing a proposal to develop a sulfide-ore copper mine near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. BHA was among the first groups to assail the anti-federalists who occupied the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon for 41 days, and some of its members from Oregon and Washington went to the refuge to oppose its occupation in person. This letter was authored by Craig Grother and John Gale, BHA Policy and Government Relations Director. It was sent to the Telluride Mountain Club regarding mountain biking trail development proposals we’ve been monitoring and remain concerned about.

Backcountry Hunters & Anglers Reveals Their Radical Side

A series of annual population surveys published in 2007 seemed to show sage grouse declining to historic lows. However, subsequent annual surveys performed under the auspices of the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies indicated that the 2007 numbers were most likely the low point in a normal population cycle. Based on these data and new habitat restoration projects, the US Fish and Wildlife Service withdrew its listing proposal in 2015.

MeatEater, a popular hunter-focused entertainment company started by outdoorsman and writer Steven Rinella, was purchased by a rabidly anti-gun Democrat financier late last year in a move that has raised alarms among hunters and gun-rights activists. The Chernin Group, a California-based investment fund run by wealthy Democratic activist and Hollywood producer Peter Chernin, purchased a controlling stake in Rinella’s MeatEater in 2018. We believe that undeveloped, unspoiled public lands are irreplaceable and must be managed, along with the fish and wildlife it supports, as a sacred public trust. There are 640 million acres of Federal lands total…so less than 1/6 of all federal lands are designated wilderness. From what I’ve seen, BHA has protected a lot of land critical to healthy fish and game populations.

Hundreds of miles of trails within the Frank Church in particular are literally being lost from a lack of use and maintenance. Wilderness areas in Colorado might be small enough to be utilized by day-hunters, but for MOST of the trails in Wilderness in Idaho….it simply isn’t physically feasible for about 99.9% of the population. To compound the issue, Wilderness designation precludes any type of mechanized equipment being utilized to maintain trails , the USFS typically throws their hands up and says, “we don’t have the budget for maintenance”. This in turn has led to vast areas being largely inaccessible to ANYONE because the trails are the only realistic travel corridors. 765 designated wilderness areas total of 109,127,689 acres…about 5% of the land mass of the United States. Apparently 95% being open for multiple use isn’t enough.

As a long time user of the NF system, I realize the benefits to the surrounding communities of having road access available. I guess you’re saying their “preferred alternative” leaving 3323 miles of road open was ALL state highway and county roads? Forests were actually managed well is not only depleted funds from fighting fires, but lawsuits from organizations like CBD and a dozen others that they pay off. The roads they were gonna “Keep Open” were state highways and county roads that had regular vehicular traffic because they went to another town, or to where people lived. I’ll be the first to say there needs to be some changes, like maybe a bit more logging with an emphasis on thinning for fire prevention. But the word is logging companies want the big trees too, as that’s where the higher profits are.

AUCTION ARMORY ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH TAYLOR MADE MEDIA, ACE PUBLIC RELATIONS.

It is estimated that2%of Colorado’s big game population is killed by wildlife-vehicle collisions every year, equal to the total number of animals harvested each year through hunting. The Colorado Court of Appeals has held that Mr. Hill has standing to claim that the Arkansas River is navigable for title and subject to a trust on behalf of the public. This opinion didn’t resolve the issue, but it’s a very important step forward. Don was also recently interviewed by the New York Times and we are working to convene a stream access coalition. If the Colorado Supreme Court upholds the Colorado Court of Appeals decision, we will have an unprecedented opportunity to push for real improvements to stream access in Colorado. Boulder County Assistant Regional Director Kris Hess has been spearheading our efforts to work with public lands agencies and other groups to address illegal trail building.

More local issues, McKalip said, often come up from the grassroots and state levels, like the prospect of the privatization of access to Catahoula Lake, in Louisiana. Some important land management/wildlife processes will be initiated by the BLM soon. We encourage all chapter leaders and members to take the initiative on whatever you have the drive/energy/interest to pursue within the broad parameters of BHA’s wildlands and wildlife preservation mission. Contact your local/regional Colorado BHA Group leaders for additional information (or contact us at ) and see some examples of what we’ve been doing/working on lately below.
